South Jersey Towns Recognized at NJDOT Complete Streets Summit
NJDOT’s 2021 Complete Streets Summit highlighted a 10-year lookback at Complete Streets in New Jersey. Presenters highlighted success stories and the future of Complete Streets in the state.
This year, Collingswood held a demonstration project on Atlantic Avenue which was highlighted at the summit. The Collingswood project successfully implemented a quick build demonstration project along Atlantic Avenue.
The project was a partnership with Cross County Connection, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, Camden County, and Perkins Center for the Arts. The Complete Streets demonstration project included the region’s first advisory bike lane and curb extensions. The project was part of DVRPC’s Experimental Pop-Ups Program (ExPo), which is open to all South Jersey municipalities in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties.
