NJ ParaTransit & County Transit Information

Paratransit provides essential transportation to older adults (+60), people with disabilities, and veterans. Eligibility for paratransit services may vary by agency to include low-income,rural, or other qualified residents. Contact your county transit agency to verify that you are eligible. Most paratransit services require advanced scheduling.

NJ Transit Access Link

Access Link is NJ TRANSIT’s ADA paratransit program: People with disabilities and senior citizens age 62 and above are eligible for the reduced fare program at any time on buses, light rail, and trains.
  • For people with disabilities, a NJ TRANSIT Reduced Fare card or Medicare card is required to take advantage of the reduced fare program.
  • For senior citizens age 62 and older, a NJ TRANSIT Reduced Fare Card or any identification that shows their date of birth enables them to take advantage of the reduced fare program. Access link operates in areas within 3/4 mile from NJ TRANSIT bus stops and light rail stations 973-491-4224

Most counties in New Jersey operate community and paratransit services which supplement NJ TRANSIT bus and rail services by providing more flexible transportation options. Many of these services require advance reservations, have eligibility criteria and may be restricted to senior citizens, people with disabilities and/or social services clients, though some are open to the general public.
